A ten member delegation from the United States has arrived in Lahore as part of an exchange program that exists between Plan9, Pakistan’s largest startup incubator, the US State Department, and the city of Austin, in the US.
Known as the ATX+PAK Exchange program, it aims to connect Pakistani entrepreneurs to mentors, business/strategic partners and investors based in Austin, Texas. The visiting delegation comprises of government officials from the City of Austin, private business owners, a venture capitalist and two startup incubators. The program will also explore the possibilities of synergy in other areas such as cultural tourism, music and film, gaming, wearable technology, and transport innovation.
One of the highlights of the weeklong program is the ‘Meet the Makers Entrepreneurship Summit’, scheduled for November 15th 2016, where nine sessions will take place on topics such as Cross Cultural Collaboration, An inside look at Pakistan’s startup scene, and Equal Opportunity Entrepreneurship etc. to facilitate dialogue between the Pakistani entrepreneurship ecosystem and the delegation.

“Through this program we wish to give our startups, our entrepreneurs, the international exposure they need to scale their business, tap into the American market, and double their revenues,” says Zainab Tariq, Program Manager at Plan9.
The program will run till the 21st of November, 2016.
