The registration drive for the second edition of Startup Lahore, a two-day event featuring competitions, panel discussions and an exhibition, is now open, says a statement released by Technology Accelerator, PlanX.
The event is scheduled to be held on March 30-31 at Arfa Software Technology Park, where PlanX, a project of the Pakistan Information Technology Board (PITB), is based.
The statement says, “Startup Lahore aims to bring together entrepreneurs, mentors, angel investors, speakers, tech companies, students, incubators and accelerators and media on a platform to discuss technology-based opportunities that can help build alliances within value-driven businesses.”
The two-day event comprises a demo day, a day-long exhibition where startups will showcase their products and services; and a startup rumble, where both idea and mid-stage startups will compete for cash prizes and awards. The event will also feature panel discussions, training workshops, and product demonstrations.

The first edition of Startup Lahore took place in January 2017. There were more than 3,000 participants, including over 100 startups, over 50 mentors, and 30 investors. The startups that won prizes and were recognized for their innovative ideas last year included Galla, Nutright, Aitomation, and CampusFeed. Galla developed a smartphone application that lets users participate in automated rotating savings and credit schemes; Nutright is a personalised fitness solution application; Aitomation’s app provides users with software bots that can perform repetitive computer-related tasks on their own; and CampusFeed lets college students set up localised social network restricted to their campuses only.
PlanX program manager Mughees Tahir is quoted in the statement as saying, “Startup Lahore was started to celebrate the spirit of entrepreneurship and to highlight opportunities in the existing ecosystem. It will provide the community with a platform to network and connect with like-minded people.”
The statement mentions March 17, as the last date for startups to register for the second edition of the event.
