Memorandums of understanding (MoUs) have been signed between Plan9, a technology incubation project of the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), and three United States companies to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Pakistan.
The companies – 3 Day Startup, Capital Factory and Tech Ranch – were here as part of a delegation from Austin, Texas.
As part of their agreement with Plan9, Tech Ranch will provide mentorship to Pakistani startups focusing on social entrepreneurship and connect them to social entrepreneurs in Austin and across the United States. Tech Ranch is an accelerator that has educated over 5,500 entrepreneurs and helped launch over 570 ventures. According to a Global Accelerator Report in 2015, Tech Ranch was named as one of the top 20 accelerators in Canada and USA.
3 Day Startup will offer entrepreneurship opportunities to students through experiential education and a global entrepreneurship ecosystem. Plan9 aims to strengthen the breadth and reach of its entrepreneurship connections with the help of the global 3 Day Startup network.
The purpose of the MoU signed with Capital Factory is to facilitate the development of direct linkages between the tech and creative industries in Pakistan, with those Texas and, through those principal bases, further into the whole of South Asia and North America.
This delegation was hosted by Plan9 during Global Entrepreneurship Week which was celebrated from 14th till the 21st of November.
