The news: A digital learning festival organized by the Trainer’s Resource Group (TRP), claimed to be the first of its kind in Pakistan, began on Monday. The festival named ‘LearnFest Digital (LFD) 2020’ is taking place from August 10 to 15 and is available to participants throughout the allotted days.
Learning in crisis: The theme of the festival is ‘Learning in Crisis’, which reflects the current state of affairs in the country as the covid-19 outbreak has forced several sectors into lockdown. The theme will allow experts to focus on skills that can be used to emerge out of the lockdowns as stronger and resilient companies or individuals. The speakers will offer advice to participants on dealing with probable hurdles, while maintaining physical and mental health. Some of the sessions will also include technological innovations and demonstrations.
Objectives: The festival aims to connect professionals and experts with those seeking to learn more about their industries, share insights along with new ideas, encourage individuals to increase their skill sets, and showcase the learning and development industry of Pakistan. The festival will cover topics such as developing a voice of influence and leadership during challenging times, using businesses to uphold society, emerging skills in technology, and the new global mindset.
Participation: The learning e-festival is being supported by a hundred business leaders, trainers, consultants, keynote speakers, facilitators, and coaches. It will last for six days featuring over 75 professionals as speakers, and over a thousand attendees. Experts and beginners alike from all over Pakistan have the chance to learn from well-known professionals and trainers from various sectors. Other than a keynote address, the festival also includes an expert panel, workshops for a general audience as well as professionals, and success stories for inspiration.
Speakers: International trainers such as Lucy Cornell, Dave Nelson, Sam Waterfall, and Luke Salway will also make appearances during the festival. From Pakistan, over 50 professional and academic institutions will participate in the LFD. These include the Pakistan Society for Training and Development, Management Association of Pakistan, Institute of Business Management, Karachi School of Business and Leadership, Nutshell Conference, and the Rotary Club.
