A Pakistani company, ConsoliAds, made it to the top 10 startups that took part in Startup Istanbul 2018, a four-day event that concluded in the Turkish city on Monday.
ConsoliAds is an acquisition, retention and monetization network for game publishers. On their website, the company says, “We know that app monetization through ads is all about higher effective cost per thousand impressions (eCPMs), and eCPMs are all about impression distribution around the globe.”
The Lahore-based startup provides a consolidated platform with economical installs for an initial game boost, guaranteed eCPMs and actionable mediation insights of apps for other best ad networks so game publishers can collaborate with them and achieve more — all without the need to send frequent app updates. The company also gives complete control over exactly which ads to place in mobile games, where the mobile ads are appearing, and how they’re performing.
Winners of the final round at Startup Istanbul 2018 included Friendbase AB from Sweden, Neurafarm from Indonesia and Iyris from Saudi Arabia. HERZ Medical Engineering from Lebanon also received an honorable mention from the judges.
Friendbase AB is an activity driven virtual world where young people from all across the world can play games, create content and meet new people. The Swedish company aims to become the global platform for young people around the world.
Indonesia-based Neurafarm provides affordable technology to farmers to handle crop problems. Their product called Dr Tania, a chatbot mobile apps, can identify plant disease using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and image recognition.
The company Iyris makes transparent solar windows. Their breakthrough technology absorbs the infrared portion of light to produce electricity and blocks heat entering the building, whilst remaining transparent to the human eye. The windows help in producing electricity invisibly and reducing the cooling load of a buildings as well.
Heart disease is a leading cause of death all around the world. HERZ Medical Engineering from Lebanon makes catheter-based cardiac assist devices for patients with heart disease. The device is inserted into the body without the need for open heart surgery, and can pump blood just like a normal heart.
More than 93,000 startups from 140 countries applied for the event. The top startups were given an opportunity to network with mentors, investors, tech executives and the media during Startup Istanbul.
