by MTRPK Correspondent

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) hosted the Sixth Regional Regulators’ Roundtable from 18-19 July 2016 and a special 3-day International Training Program (ITP) jointly organized by International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and PTA from 20-22 July 2016 in Islamabad.

Delegations from 23 countries in the Asia-Pacific region participated in the important training program which served as an important forum designed for the sharing of best practices, regulatory experience and initiatives.

During the event, PTA shared a regulatory framework on Quality of Service (QoS) with the participants followed by a live demonstration of QoS testing for mobile and wireless broadband (3G/4G) services. The demonstration was conducted using Anite’s (a Finnish firm) state of the art Nemo Invex Solution, used for assessment and measurement of QoS.

Anite’s team was also on hand and conducted a useful training session by sharing critical industry knowledge with the ITP participants. The team also focused on how technology was central to connecting different societies and promoting global growth.
