Pakistani startup company Cricingif bagged the first prize in the startup category at the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) Awards held in Dhaka on December 7.
Cricingif provides instant ball-by-ball live cricket scores on the Internet along with a clip of every ball played during the match. The startup delivers not only live cricket matches but also focuses on other aspects of the game. Users can stay updated with all things cricket-related before and after the matches. During the T20 World Cup in 2015, the cricket viewing platform had over 5.7 million clip plays per month with more than 30,000 users and 47,000 followers on social media.

“I’m extremely proud to have represented Pakistan at the 2017 APICTA Awards and have won the best Startup Award for the country,” said Qasim Zafar, co-founder and chief commercial officer of Cricingif, in a statement.
“The awards encourage healthy competition amongst the participating countries. The connections we’ve made with like-minded people from all over Asia Pacific will definitely help us going forward,” he added.
The three-day international awards were organized by APICTA. The organization provides a platform to catalyse and recognise indigenous ICT innovations and to stimulate economic development, trade relations and technology collaboration in the Asia Pacific region.
Earlier this year, Cricingif won two awards at P@SHA ICT Awards 2017 in the categories of Brand Development and Media & Entertainment Technology. They were also a runners-up in the Best Startup category.
