Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) fined Value TV for broadcasting unlicensed programing on the airwaves today.
PEMRA alleges that Value TV is running “Channel 24’ without license. The broadcasting license issued by PEMRA is in fact in the name of Value TV.
Value TV used to be a real estate and property news channel.
PEMRA has no records of Channel 24. Value TV has made no move to change the nature or name of its licensing agreement with PEMRA at any time in spite of being served with many legal notices and warnings from PEMRA. Therefore, PEMRA has now served them with the final notice, a fine of PKR 100,000 and a stern warning – Value TV’s license will be revoked within 30 days in case of non-compliance and nonpayment under PEMRA’s rules.
